Cravagoide This album mixes so many different elements and Dwells of Lofir does it in such a wonderful way. The bleakness of metal atmospheres and the openness of IDM soundscapes create a contrast that is at the same time nostalgic and surprising. And the lofi elements act as a binding force that brings everything together.

sulphursunday It conveys a coherent ambience that somehow reminds me of my childhood, both in terms of moments I lived in my real life and in emotions evoked by a book or picture I've harboured and relished ever since. Hard to pick a fav tracks, but the one that made me relisten to it from itself till the end was... Favorite track: Oh its fullmoon.

All my archives are open and searched. The dust was left behind and made even louder. Old guitars were straightened and a filthy deep bass drum and snare dug up from the woods. Where the gateway to the ancient secrets of bardic trickery stands. With the seal #lofihiphop and #medieval burned into the door and titled "Dwells of Lofir" I close this chapter.

Recordings I made 12 years ago as part of my four, more medieval, albums (2007-2010). In the meantime I have completely forgotten how to play the guitar and have also become a stranger to the scene. I've completed my attempts to mix folklore with breakbeats/jungle and have come to the conclusion that it kicks well when played live, but doesn't get me anywhere. What has remained is the fascination of quiet, folkloric passages in newer Black Metal productions (or the old "bergtatt")

Dwells of Lofir has become a quiet album, as long as the walk to the lake, to the forest and back lasts.
